Denim Day: Art, Advocacy & Action
Purpose:
To honor survivors of sexual assault, dismantle victim-blaming myths, educate the community about informed consent, and mobilize tangible ways people can support survivors using art, poetry, and survivor-centered dialogue.
Why Denim Day:
Denim Day is a global movement rooted in protest against victim-blaming, sparked by a 1990s Italian court ruling that implied clothing equaled consent. By wearing denim, participants publicly reject rape myths and stand in solidarity with survivors.
